SALT LAKE CITY TRIP (Business)
As you might have gathered from the caption under the picture on the left, I'm in Salt Lake City for the CIT (Conference on Information Technology). Have some new things I hope to share (technologically-wise) in the near future. Today's Technology Tidbit: tube tv's are out (duh), and plasma and lcd's are falling, at least in price, through the floor, as we speak. The digital tv conversion is coming in February. This is not a big thing where I live, as we don't get diddly (sp?) with an antenna, so "over the air" tv is not an option for most of us, along with the proliferation of cable and satellite tv, having a digital tuner is not that big of a thing. But if you buy new now, you will get one and be ready for whatever. Oh, to live in a more populous spot, and be closer than 75 miles to a television station, but that borders on the "life" portion of this blog, and since this is my first posting, let's stick with technology, it's safer. But often not as interesting or interactive. Speaking of interactivity, what ever happened to interactive tv? It was supposed to be the big thing in tv, but that was thought to be in the future in the sixties, and it's probably sharing a store room with eight track tape players, (don't laugh too hard, my brother had a FOUR TRACK cassette player in his '53 Chevy) that we used to ride to school in. Betcha you haven't even heard of those. If the eight tracks are a laugh, the four track's a hoot. Oh, but we do digress, but at least still within the boundaries of this blog. First shot done.
